We are authorised Volvo Penta agents in Northland, factory trained and running VODIA, the factory diagnostic system. For the owner that means the fault gets found from the engine's own data, the service is done to factory spec with genuine parts, and the warranty stays intact. When a job needs more than the manual, we have a direct line into Volvo Penta support.

Repowers and new engines
A Volvo Penta repower starts with the boat, not the brochure. Hull, weight, drive type, gearing and how the boat actually gets used decide the right engine, and if the one you have is worth keeping we will say so. When it stacks up we run the whole job: new engine supply, drive or transmission, controls, wiring, exhaust and sea trial.

How often should a Volvo Penta sterndrive be serviced?
Every 12 months. Drive oil, bellows, gimbal bearing, universal joints and trim all get checked, and anodes replaced as they need it. Bellows are rubber working under water, and when one splits the drive fills with salt water, so this is the one service that never gets stretched. Book it with the annual engine service and the boat only comes out once.
Do you use genuine parts?
Yes, genuine Volvo Penta parts only, matched to your engine serial so what goes on is what the factory specified. Pattern parts look cheaper until they fit wrong or fail early. There is no cheap and good in the marine world, it is one or the other.
Can you service my engine at the berth?
Yes. The workshop sits 200 metres from the marina berths, and plenty of engine work is easier done where the boat lies, so we service at your berth or on the hardstand as readily as on the workshop floor. Sterndrive work usually needs the boat out of the water, and we will tell you which way to go when you book.
Is my warranty safe with you?
Yes. Servicing by an authorised agent, to the factory schedule, with genuine parts keeps your factory warranty valid. Every job is logged against the engine so the history is there if a claim ever comes up, and warranty repairs themselves are handled in this workshop.
